Knox County Teen Court is a diversion program for teens from he ages of 10 -18. Only first time misemeanor offenders are eligible. Teen Court is based on the philosophy that a youthful law violator does not continue to be an offender when a jury of his/her peers decides punishment. It provides a way for first offenders to keep their records clean. The program focuses on youth accountability and developement. It also is based on the philosophy that when offenders take responsibilty for their actions and repair the harm that they have done they will not reoffend.

Teen Volunteers are also welcomed! We need teens to serve as jurors, bailiffs, court clerks and attorneys! This looks great on college applications!
